MAVOY CHARTS 2017 - TOP 300 ALBUMS

Szczególny rok i bardzo szczególne notowanie, wygrane przez kogoś, kto (wielu to zdziwi!) jeszcze nigdy nie dzierżył tytułu najlepszego albumu roku według MM. Rok ten należał do debiutantów - w czołowej dziesiątce mamy aż pięć (!!!) debiutanckich krążków! Imponujące osiągnięcie. Nie powiem Wam jeszcze, kto otrzyma nasze statuetki za 2017, ale trzeba przyznać, że już dziś widzę chociażby idealnego kandydata na label roku. Cieszą mnie świetne rezultaty dziewczyn, które same produkują muzykę - mam tu na myśli Sevdalizę, oczywiście Bjork, Nabihę Iqbal, Kaitlyn Aurelię Smith czy Kedr Livanskiy. Mam też jedną ciekawostkę geograficzną - aż trzy płyty w języku arabskim, nie tylko ta spodziewana popowej gwiazdki Nancy Ajram. Szkoda, ze tym razem słabszy rok dla wydawnictw polskich, choć dostrzeżona przeze mnie późno Daria Zawiałow budzi faktycznie spore nadzieje.

Nie wiem, czy liczba płyt stanie się standardem, ale myślę, że dopisany gatunek i wytwórnia - tak ;)

MAVOY CHARTS 2017 - TOP 100 SONGS

Tradycyjnie nasze podsumowanie roczne opieramy o wyniki prywatnej listy przebojów. Według prostej zasady - 1 miejsce - 50 punktów, 50 miejsce - punkt. Tegoroczny efekt jest bardzo zaskakujący, nie tylko ze względu na nieco niespodziewaną liczbę komercyjnych piosenek w dolnych dziesiątkach. Najwyższa piosenka Jessie jest "tylko" na 5, najwyższa Lany "tylko" na 6. Ten rok wreszcie w o wiele większym stopniu należał do mniej znanych wykonawców i debiutantów. W tym kogoś na kogo debiutancki LP czekaliśmy trzy lata - było warto! Niia, congratulations!

Przepraszam za "banalny" numer jeden! Przyznaję, że pomysł na taki dowcip przyszedł mi do głowy chyba jeszcze w październiku, w okolicy ich koncertu. Jest to z pewnością piosenka godna jedynki, ale za tydzień lider powinien się zmienić. Noel Gallagher zjechał gwałtownie w dół, ale już czas na jego nowy utwór. Debiutują też Talib Kweli (w podobnej sytuacji) i Mary J. Blige. Nowe notowanie jeszcze w tym tygodniu, bliżej weekendu.

Myślę, że odwiedzając w ostatnich dniach Facebooka, zwróciliście uwagę na umieszczone na naszych stronach zdjęcia kobiety w kapeluszu. W ten sposób promuję jedno z moich największych odkryć ostatnich miesięcy - Nabihę Iqbal - elektroniczną producent znaną wcześniej jako Throwing Shades. Debiutancki album Weighting Of The World, wydany 1 grudnia, ukazał się jednak już pod jej prawdziwym nazwiskiem. To niezwykle eklektyczna kolekcja dźwięków w równym stopniu czerpiąca z rocka, shoegaze, R&B i disco, jak i muzyki elektronicznej. Na zachęte dwie piosenki, ale nie możecie przegapić krążka - a mi pozostaje już liczyć na przyjazd tej artystki do Polski.

Lykke Li - End Of The Night

Nigdy własnego postu nie doczekał się na tym blogu projekt Liv, który Lykke Li tworzy wspólnie ze swoim mężem Jeffem Bhaskerem, Andrew Wyattem z Miike Snow i częścią składu Peter Bjorn & John. Okazuje się jednak, że Szwedka, powracająca do muzyki po urodzeniu dziecka ma również na koncie nowe nagranie solowe. Jest to utwór End Of The Night, wykorzystany w filmie dokumentalnym Served Like A Girl. Całości ścieżki dźwiękowej chyba nie opłaca się słuchać (choć jest na niej kilka premier od innych gwiazd pop - Natashy Bedingfield, Pink, Christiny Aguilery, a także Pat Benatar), ale Lykke wypada znakomicie. Mam cichą nadzieję, że po już dość długiej przerwie, w przyszłym roku wyda nowy album.

Azekel - Can We Have Fun / Don't Wake The Babies

O Azekelu nie pisaliśmy już dawno. Po dłuższej przerwie muzyk, który gościł w naszym kraju przy okazji zeszłorocznego występu Massive Attack, zaprezentował dwa nowe nagrania solowe. Oba są zapowiedzią debiutanckiego albumu, który zostanie wydany zimą 2018 roku.  To bardzo solidna propozycja dla wszystkich miłośników dobrego R&B.

SPINN - She Takes Her Time

Wśród zdolnych młodzieńców z gitarami tym razem zwracam Wasza uwagę na zespół SPINN (nie mylić z Spin Magazine ;) ). Ta czwórka wywodzi się z Liverpoolu, a trafiłem na nich dzięki nowemu singlowi She Takes Her Time. Track jest zapowiedzią EP, która zostanie wydana w marcu nakładem Modern Sky UK.

October's Child - Orion

October's Child to projekt stworzony przez dwoje kalifornijskich artystów o podobnym nazwisku - wokalistkę Britt Warner i Jordana Ware (podobieństwo do Jessie i Leona chyba przypadkowe ;) ). Orion jest pierwszym z albumu As You Go (data premiery nieznana), jego powstanie zostało zainspirowane pierwszym Świętem Dziękczynienia, jakie Warner musiała spędzić bez niedawno zmarłego ojca.

Jeśli od dłuższego czasu śledzicie moje playlisty na SoundCloud znacie Alaynę, przede wszystkim za sprawą piosenki High Off You. Jej debiutanckim singlem wydanym wcześniej w tym roku było natomiast Falling Autumn, wyprodukowane przez niewymagającego rekomendacji Astronomyy (e, ta piosenka akurat na blogu już była!). Najnowszą propozycją wokalistki z Brooklynu (pochodzenia nowozelandzkiego) jest Bliss.

Nils Bech - Apart

Płyta Sama Smitha nie jest tak zła, jak spodziewaliśmy się po singlach ją promujących. Jeśli jednak naprawdę lubicie męskie falsety, lepiej sięgnąć po skandynawskiego wokalistę Nilsa Becha. Norweg pojawił się już kiedyś na moim blogu... w poście świątecznym.  Teraz doczytałem, że wspominany wtedy, naprawdę poruszający cover O Helga Natt dotarł nawet do pierwszej czterdziestki lokalnej listy przebojów. Obiecywałem wtedy, że Nils doczeka się także większego wpisu, z czasem wypadł jednak z moich planów. O istnieniu Becha przypomniało mi The 405, gdzie premierę miał jego nowy singiel - Apart. Jego producentem jest Ole Torjus Hofvind.

Przyśpieszamy z końcem roku, tym razem zależy mi na wypełnieniu pełnej liczby 52 notowań w roku. Liderka pozostaje bez zmian, ale kilka piosenek ma wyraźną ochotę na jej wyprzedzenie. Należy w tym gronie wymienić zarówno Charlotte, Snoh, jak i skromnie zaczynającą Bjork. Z debiutami jest skromnie i tak pewnie pozostanie do końca roku.
